Kunzite is a variety of spodumene, a lithium aluminium silicate mineral. It exhibits a light pink to an almost bright violetish purple color. This color is due to magnesium impurities. It is a relatively new mineral that has been identified and used as a gemstone. Kunzite with intense hues is very rare and expensive. It can also be discolored due to radiation and this is why it should not be exposed to sunlight. Because of this, it is called “the evening stone”.
All minerals used for the creation of our kombolois are mostly gemstones used to craft jewelry. Please treat your komboloi with care. Inclusions, cracks and breakage surfaces are a natural phenomenon and should never be associated with wear and tear.
