Garnet is a mineral that derives its name from the Latin word “grantum” which means “pomegranate”. Its name was given due to the resemblance of its crystals to pomegranate seeds, both in shape and color. In antiquity, it was known as “Anthrakion,” a term once used to describe all red-colored minerals.
The use of this komboloi is recommended with discretion and care. Inclusions, cracks and breakage surfaces are a natural phenomenon and should never be associated with wear and tear.
The cord may wear over time with use, especially in komboloi made from stones or heavier materials. This wear is normal and can be easily restored through replacement.
