Amber is a natural fossilized resin of coniferous trees, formed over millions of years. It is also known as “electron” and is primarily found in the Baltic region. It is an organic material of plant origin, widely used in the creation of jewelry and decorative objects.
During the natural flow of the resin, microorganisms or insects may become trapped within it. In such cases, its commercial value increases due to the rarity and distinctive character of the inclusion.
In traditional use and crystal healing practices, amber is associated with a sense of well-being, reduced tension, and inner balance. It is particularly known for being worn as a necklace close to the neck, where it is believed to be linked to supporting thyroid function, due to the presence of succinic acid and trace elements such as iodine. It has also been traditionally associated with anti-inflammatory properties and the overall support of the body.
Reconstructed (pressed) amber is formed by fusing natural amber elements under controlled conditions of heat and pressure, creating a material with a uniform structure and balanced aesthetics.
It stands out for its depth of color, warm tones, and clean surface, allowing for the creation of well-shaped and harmonious beads.
Its natural patterns and subtle internal transitions add character and a distinctive presence to each komboloi.
Its cohesion and stability make it an ideal choice for komboloi of refined aesthetics, with timeless value.
The properties attributed to amber are based on tradition and empirical use and do not constitute scientifically proven therapeutic properties.
Note:
Careful use of the komboloi is recommended. Natural lines, pores, or subtle surface irregularities are inherent characteristics of the material and confirm its authenticity.
