Tiger’s eye is called one of the most popular varieties of quartz. It has a brown colour of exceptional lustre with golden-yellow veins. These veins in their composition are fibrous granulite. It exhibits a characteristic linear iridescence like a moving iridescence. This very characteristic visual phenomenon is known by the French word chatoyancy, which in Greek means “cat’s eye”. It symbolizes the union of the Earth and the sun. It is thought to favor decision making and increase self-confidence. Tiger’s eye is found in the U.S., South Africa, Namibia, Brazil, and South Africa. A quality of tiger eye in a darker color is called “Hawk’s eye” where it is a deep blue color and there is also “bull’s eye” , which is deep red.
