Mastic, also known as Sudurus or Misketa, is a material made in Persia. It is a mixture of old-cut amber (1920–1940) and other substances such as bakelite, rosin, and turpentine. It is quite impact-resistant compared to amber and considerably heavier. Even though it is not pure amber, it has a similar value due to the age and rarity of the original material.
Note: Old-cut mastic beads may naturally display lines, subtle natural markings, or small surface cavities. These characteristics are entirely expected and attest to the authenticity and age of the material.
