Smoky quartz is a transparent variety of quartz with a dark brown to greyish, smoke-like colour—hence its name. The colour is caused by silicon ions formed through natural exposure to radiation. It is commonly mined in Brazil, the United States, and Switzerland. The very dark variety of smoky quartz is known as morion.
All minerals used for the creation of our kombolois are mostly gemstones used to craft jewelry. For this reason, this particular komboloi is recommended to be used with care. Inclusions, cracks, and fracture surfaces are natural occurrences and attest to the authenticity of the material.
