Tourmaline comprises a large range of cyclosilicate minerals and is available in a plethora of colors. This mineral is hard and transparent and very resistant to oxidation. The name is derived from the Sinhalese word “tourmali”, which means “mixed”. As it exhibits remarkable healing properties it has become one of the most popular precious stones. Tourmalines are encountered across all geological formations in America and Indonesia.
