Apatite is a mineral the name of which is of Greek origin. It is typically semi-transparent and appears in beautiful green-blue tones. It often displays a subtle moving sheen, as well as the optical phenomenon known as asterism. With a hardness of 5 and a specific gravity of 3.2, it is considered a relatively delicate material and is therefore not commonly used in jewelry making.
Note: Apatite beads may display natural lines, pores, or small surface cavities. These features are a natural expression of the stone and contribute to its authentic character. The use of this komboloi is recommended with discretion and care.
