Prehnite is a mineral discovered in South Africa in the 18th century by the German Colonel Von Prehns, after whom it was named. It has a hardness of 6, is usually found in greenish hues and features inclusions. High quality prehnite is translucent to transparent and can be faceted and/or carved. It is mined in South Africa, Germany, USA, and Australia.
All the minerals used in the making of our komboloi are primarily gemstone-quality rocks intended for use in jewellery. Handle this komboloi with care. Inclusions, cracks and breakage surfaces are a natural phenomenon and should never be associated with wear and tear.
